This privacy policy sets forth how personal information is collected and used on our mobile application KOSHO. Unless otherwise indicated, this privacy policy only applies to personal information collected through KOSHO by QARA. By using the KOSHO application, you agree to be bound by this privacy policy and our terms of use, as they may be amended from time to time in the future. In addition, QARA will not collect any sensitive data that may infringe basic human rights and it will comply with laws and regulations from the Information and Communication Network Act as well as the international standards that follow the OECD privacy guidelines.
QARA is committed to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and security of any personal information about our users. This privacy policy explains how we protect and use the personal details through our KOSHO service. For the purpose of this policy, “personal” means any information that can identify you, the user, such as your name, address, phone number, or email address.

1. List of Personal Information Collected

QARA collects the following information from users to provide membership registration and service provisions. The company takes in only the minimum required information to fulfill functions such as user identification, new service development, and customer service consultations. With prior consents from the users, QARA can take in optional information to offer more specialized services. Users are not restricted from using the service even if they do not agree to provide additional information. They are still allowed to use the minimum services offered.

Users’ personal information can be collected through direct inputs, bypass information, customer center, fax, and phone calls.
In the case of mobile services, information about handsets (phone models, network operator, hardware ID, and basic statistics on uses’ sessions) can be automatically collected.
Additionally, other data collection can include login information, service history, and app installation as well as browser information.

2. Purpose of Collecting Personal Information

QARA collects personal information to ensure it provides a “smooth” service for users. Below is a list of how this information will be used. With regards to any future changes, users will receive a prior notification before the changes become fully integrated.

If users would like to receive information about QARA’s community activities (events, surveys, researches, content posts, etc.), QARA can share this information via email or push message. However, if users clarify they do not want this information, QARA can choose to not share it with the users. Below is a list of ways you can opt out of receiving these updates.

4. Provision of Third Party Consent

① QARA will not share users’ personal information to a third party without any prior consent. However, QARA can share personal information to a third party without the members’ consent to the service providers mentioned below in the case they request the information for their services.

② Members can withdraw any previously agreed upon provision of a third party consent. If they do so and the third party consent is withdrawn, members will not be allowed to participate in our online sites. The company will also delete any records of the members and retrieval will not be possible.

5. Guide to Deleting Personal Information

① Delete Procedure: In principle, QARA will destroy the users’ personal information without any delay upon membership cancellation. However, if an internal service operation policy or statute imposes an obligation to keep information for a certain period of time, the information will be transferred to a separate database. After a designated period, the data will then be deleted. Personal information sent to the separate database will not be used for any other purposes not written by law.

② Delete Method: Personal information printed on paper will be shredded or incinerated. Information that’s stored through an electronic file is deleted by technical means and there won’t be any ways to retrieve it.

6. Storing Personal Information

① QARA will retain and use the members’ personal information in accordance with the period during which the members use the service or any other related statutes that are set forth.

② QARA may retain the members’ personal information for a certain period of time even if the members cancel the service.

7. Representing Legal Counsel

① The following is a list of how QARA protects the legal rights of its members.

② Membership inquiry, revisions, or withdrawal can be made through the KOSHO app. Other ways to contact the company include writing, phone, and email.

8. Membership Duty

① Members will ensure that their subscription email and password are not shared or leaked to unwanted parties. QARA will not be held liable for any issues that arise from any leakage of subscription emails and/or passwords. Therefore, QARA strongly recommends that users use their passwords that are not used by other services online. This is important especially when you first register for membership.

② When first signing up for a membership, users will make sure that all their personal information is accurate and valid. QARA will not be held responsible for any issues that may arise from the incorrect information that members have inputted.

9. Precautions for Using Link Sites

① QARA can share with its members links to other websites or affiliates. Once users clink on the links and leave the current landing page, QARA will not be held liable for any activities, whether positive or negative, provided by other companies.

② When members move to a new link page, please make sure to review the policy for the newly visited website. QARA’s handling of personal information may be significantly different than that of other companies.

10. Measures for Protect Personal Information

① QARA does its best to prevent personal information from being lost, stolen, leaked, and tampered with. To ensure safety in handling sensitive data for users, QARA will implement appropriate measures. However, despite these measures, the members can still be hacked and personal information could be leaked through forced intrusion or new virus. In this case, the members will not be held responsible.

② Members’ personal information is protected by their IDs and passwords. Furthermore, important data such as customer acquisition and transferred data are protected through separate security functions.

③ QARA uses a vaccine program to prevent damage caused by computer viruses. Vaccine programs are updated periodically and if a virus appears suddenly, the program will immediately prevent any personal data from being compromised.

④ QARA employs security devices that enable security transmission of personal information over the network using encryption algorithms.

⑤ The intrusion prevention system will be installed and operated in order to control unauthorized access from the outside such as hacking.

12. Privacy Policy Changes and Notices

QARA can change its privacy policy for various reasons: to improve members’ personal information processing procedures, reflect changes to the company’s services, and comply with the relevant and most recent laws. In the event that the company changes its privacy policy, members shall be notified of the change as soon as possible.
